'Pre-War' Windsor Artiste Model 2 - 5-String Zither Banjo

This beautiful Artiste Model 2 is a hollow‑necked, zither‑style 5‑string banjo made of English walnut, boasting a snaky 5th string running under the fingerboard and a top‑tension head, giving it a bright yet mellow voice. New Windsor Patent raised brass oval trademark logo on heel.

Features lovely geometric mother of pearl inlays, rosewood resonator, ebony fretboard, and walnut neck. 27.5" scale length.

Built before World War II (circa 1920s–’30s), it came from a Birmingham factory that was later bombed so it’s as much a piece of history as it is a very playable instrument.

Includes original custom wooden case, plus quite a bit of interesting old banjo music and paraphernalia. The pearl inlays have been reset in 2019.
