1975 Rickenbacker 4001 Bass "Jet-Glo" w/ HSC

The Rickenbacker 4001 bass was only in production between 1961 and 1981, before being replaced by the 4003 model. This bass has been played by icons such as Paul McCartney and Lemmy, with a rosewood fretboard fitted with the iconic Rickenbacker triangular inlays. The maple body and neck is in the iconic "Jet-glo" nitro finish. This bass has the original and iconic Rickenbacker 4001 bridge.

Rick-O-Sound outputs are both present, but have bypassed - allowing both jacks to output the bridge and neck pickups simultaneously.

Original pickguard has been replaced as have original knobs (& have been lost to time/not included with sale).

Setup with 105-gauge roundwound strings for a supremely low action. Original frets have minor wear and some tail-lift is present (as is commonly found on 4001s from this era). Anecdotally, hasn't seemed to have moved in a long time. Original bridge height adjustment hex-screws have been replaced with adjustable Phillips-head screws (a very nifty mod) to avoid any damage often caused to the picking hand.
